Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about AllotBox Collect.

Who is the primary user of AllotBox Collect?+
The primary user is the person who collects money — the apartment treasurer, gym owner, property owner, tuition teacher, PG manager, or anyone who receives monthly payments from a group of people. Only this person needs to sign up and use AllotBox Collect. The members (residents, tenants, students, etc.) do NOT need to create an account, download any app, or interact with AllotBox in any way. This is purely a tool for the person who collects and tracks monthly payments.
Do members of my community need to log in or create an account?+
No, absolutely not. Your members (residents, tenants, students, gym-goers) never need to sign up, log in, or even know about AllotBox Collect. They simply make their regular UPI payment as usual and forward the screenshot to you on Telegram — that's it. There is no app for them to install, no portal for them to visit, and no account for them to create. AllotBox Collect is 100% managed by you, the collector.
How many people can manage one AllotBox Collect account?+
One person manages one account. AllotBox Collect is designed for a single treasurer or owner to manage their circle. You enter data, track payments, and generate reports. If your committee or team needs visibility, you can simply download the monthly report as an Excel/CSV file and share it with everyone — committee members, auditors, or residents. No need for multiple logins.
Do I need to create a Telegram bot?+
No, you don't need to create any bot yourself. You simply forward the UPI payment screenshot to AllotBox Collect on Telegram. Our system reads the screenshot, extracts the payment details (amount, date, sender), and automatically records it in your dashboard. No bot setup, no technical knowledge required — just forward and forget.
How does AllotBox Collect track UPI payments automatically?+
When a member makes a UPI payment, they simply forward the payment screenshot to your Telegram bot. AllotBox reads the screenshot, extracts the amount, date, and UPI ID, and automatically records the payment in your dashboard.
Is AllotBox Collect free to use?+
Yes! AllotBox Collect is completely free for the first 3 months with no credit card required. After that, plans start at just ₹99/month for up to 50 members.
Who can use AllotBox Collect?+
AllotBox Collect is built for anyone who collects monthly payments — apartment/layout treasurers, property owners managing rentals, tuition teachers, gym owners, dance class instructors, PG managers, and more.
Can I download payment reports?+
Yes, you can download monthly payment reports as CSV files with one click. Reports include member key, name, amount, status, payment mode, date, and UTR number.
What payment modes are supported?+
AllotBox Collect supports UPI, cash, bank transfer, and other payment modes. The automatic screenshot tracking works with all UPI apps — Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, and bank UPI.
Can I manage multiple properties or circles?+
Currently, AllotBox Collect supports one circle per account. Multi-circle support is on our roadmap and will be available soon.
How do I connect AllotBox Collect on Telegram?+
After signing up, go to Settings → Telegram Integration. Follow the simple steps to link your Telegram account. Once connected, just forward any UPI payment screenshot to AllotBox Collect on Telegram and it will be auto-recorded.
What happens if a member doesn't pay?+
Members who haven't paid for the current month are automatically shown as "Pending". After the due date passes, they are marked as "Late". You can see all defaulters in one tap from your dashboard.
Is my data secure?+
Yes. AllotBox Collect uses Supabase for authentication and data storage, with Google OAuth for secure sign-in. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Can I mark a member as unoccupied?+
Yes. In the Members page, you can toggle the "Occupied" status. Unoccupied members are automatically marked as "N/A" for future months so they don't show up as defaulters.
